Profile (Artist Bio)

K.G. Lewis is a painter whose work centers on figurative oil painting and the expressive possibilities of light and form. Her practice combines classical training with a contemporary sensibility, shaped by a strong interest in composition, atmosphere, and the human figure.

She first trained in Aix-en-Provence, France, at the Leo Marchutz School of Painting & Drawing, where she studied painting through an Impressionist approach emphasizing direct observation, light, and color. She later studied fine art at the Academy of Art in San Francisco, where she deepened her training in the fundamentals of drawing and painting, including color theory, anatomy, and composition. In addition to her studio practice, Lewis has developed an independent art-based business centered on her original artwork and designs, creating more than 300 pieces and building a substantial wholesale collector base.

Today, she is focused on creating large-scale figurative paintings that balance technical precision with a distinctive sensibility. These works are intentionally scarce—with only a limited number of pieces completed each year—and have been noted by curators and advisors for their consistency, refinement, and the depth of their emotional impact.
